Description: Uda Pussallawa is a lesser-known but distinct tea-growing region in Sri Lanka, nestled between the Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, and Uva regions. Its dynamic terrain is shaped by sharp drops and is influenced by both the southwest and northeast monsoons, making the climate unpredictable—sometimes wet and misty, at other times windy and dry.
The inconsistent sunlight and challenging conditions result in smaller leaves, but when carefully produced, the tea offers a mellow, yet complex flavour profile. Noted for its subtle floral character, particularly a delicate rose bouquet, Uda Pussallawa teas embody the unique essence of this sometimes overlooked region.
